Trustee Cathern L. Bendell has lived in the Dolton community for over 27 years.  She is an active citizen and community servant with many leadership and volunteer roles throughout the south suburban area. Prior to her election to the board,  Bendell served the community as a  Trustee  for the Dolton Public Library,  President and Vice President of the United Methodist Women, as an officer in the Franklin School PTA, as a five-year volunteer with the Dolton Blood Commission, and as a volunteer with Girl Scouts U.S.A.

Bendell was elected as Village of Dolton Trustee on April 5, 2011.
